11 Jul This Old Dog Learns New Tricks Daily
I try to start my day learning something. Either by reading a book or watching training videos. A few weeks I watched Aaron Draplin’s new Skillshare tutorial, Illustration with Draplin: Iterating with Shape, Style, and Color.
Wow! I love Aaron’s style, I love the way he communicates (even though he goes through things pretty fast sometimes) and I love how he gets me excited about design again.
Aaron talked about the importance of iteration. Start simple, keep everything on the artboard, tweak copies only and go wild trying different line widths, colors, shapes, shadows, and styles.
But one of the things I latched on to was making shapes out multiple shapes and rotating a copy. So I had some fun with what I learned.
